Mogadishu, July 11 (QNA) - At least 13 Al-Shabaab militants were killed during a military operation launched by the Somali army in the southeast of the country. The Somali Intelligence Service announced in a statement today that the operation took place last night in the Qartiri area near the city of El Barf in Middle Shabelle region, resulting in the deaths of 13 militants, including leaders. The statement explained that the military operation targeted a gathering of militants while they were planning attacks, noting that weapons and vehicles in their possession were destroyed. The Somali army, with support from local forces and international partners, continues its intensive military operations aimed at regaining control of vital areas and cutting off supply routes for the Al-Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab militant group.
