18-ball over? Strange moment in Pakistan vs Australia clash at WCL 2025, video goes viral

New Delhi: The Cricket fans will always remember this bizarre moment that happened during match 14 of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. Australia pacer John Hastings delivered a strange over against Pakistan Champions at Grace Road Leicester on Tuesday.
What was the situation in the match?
Talking about the match Mohammad Hafeezs Pakistan Champions was chasing the target of just 75 runs to gain victory over Australia Champions. They were already at a score of 55 with no loss of wickets in the seventh over when John Hastings was given to bowl.
What happened in the over?
Looking at the over of Australia pacer John Hastings he started the over with five wide balls and interestingly all were bowled outside the off-stump to right-handed batter Sohaib Maqsood. Then after a single Sharjeel Khan took the strike and smashed a boundary followed by a no-ball and yet another wide and this time the wide was outside the leg stump. The extras kept piling up.
Did John Hastings try different angles?
When John Hastings was struggling with his line he switched to round the wicket but ended up bowling three more wides. Sharjeel was just watching the ball out of his reach. Then he changed angles again only to bowl more deliveries far from the stumps. So in total the over included 12 wides one no-ball. This over was never even completed as the Pakistan Champions won the match before the overs end.

What happened in the match?
Moving forward to the match Pakistans Saeed Ajmal was the standout performer taking 6 wickets for just 16 runs. The team also received support from Imad Wasims tight spell. Australia lost eight wickets for 25 runs as the batting order collapsed after reaching 49 with 2 wickets down.
Looking at Pakistan Champions batting openers Sharjeel Khan scored 32 runs and Sohaib Maqsood scored 28 runs both were unbeaten and easily chased down the target of 75 runs sealing a 10-wicket victory in just 7.5 overs.
