Up to 20 jobs are at risk after one of Northern Ireland's leading golf supply stores has been ordered to vacate its premises. Established in Lisburn in 2010, Andrew Morris Golf has grown to become one of Northern Ireland's leading suppliers of golfing equipment and apparel. Belfast Live understands that the business now faces an uncertain future after its landlord informed it that it must leave the premises by August. Spanning over 4000 square feet, the shop stocks the leading brands in golf equipment and clothing like TaylorMade, Callaway, Titleist, Ping, Nike, Footjoy and many more. Speaking to Belfast Live, local SDLP Councillor Pat Catney described it as a "fabulous business" that were "really good tenants". "Andrew has been given notice to leave the golf shop after a successful 15 years of trading," he said. "The landlord wants to take the building back to run his own business, but at the moment, we are unsure if it's for a change of use or if he will continue to operate it as a golf shop. "They were served the notice on 14th February with a date to vacate by 20th August. This is a well-known business that has brought many thousands of customers to the area from all over the country." Pat said that the business is keen to stay within the Lisburn and Castlereagh area and has actively been looking at potential premises in Carryduff "There are 20 jobs at risk, and 18 of their staff live in the Lisburn area. These jobs are in jeopardy as he cannot find suitable premises to move to in the timeframe that he has been given," he finished. Andrew Morris Golf have been approached for comment.
