The heartbeat of European indoor athletics will pulse through Apeldoorn as the Dutch city welcomes the continent’s finest from 6-9 March 2025.

Hosted at the Omnisport Apeldoorn, this edition of the European Athletics Indoor Championships promises four days of drama as athletes battle for the European title, all with the World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 2025 looming later this month in People’s Republic of China, from 21-23 March.

This marks the Netherlands' third time hosting the championships, following Rotterdam in 1973 and The Hague in 1989. But Apeldoorn 2025 arrives with entirely different energy, with a home squad brimming with world-class talent including indoor world-record holder Femke Bol and the entire reigning Olympic mixed team relay.

But the athletes in orange won’t be the only ones looking to make history. Four individual Olympic champions from Paris 2024—Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Miltiadis Tentoglou, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, and Yemisi Ogunleye—are set to take centre stage, while rising stars and seasoned veterans alike gear up to run, jump, and throw their way to the continental crown.

At the helm of the event is none other than retired Dutch sprint legend Dafne Schippers, who now takes on the role of tournament director. The two-time world champion and Rio 2016 silver medallist knows a thing or two about excelling under the bright lights and hopes to see this “new generation shine” in Apeldoorn.
