The 2025 NFL draft is entering the home stretch.
Rounds 4-7 in Green Bay begin at noon Saturday, and there are some big names still available. None are more notable than Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who many pundits predicted as a first-round pick. He has yet to hear his name called, while five other quarterbacks have been selected in the first three rounds.
The Detroit Lions have five picks remaining in 2025, even after trading up twice on Friday. First, they sent the 60th and 130th picks to the Denver Broncos for picks 57 and 230, using the first of those to take Georgia guard Tate Ratledge. Then they paid a steep price to acquire pick No. 70 from the Jacksonville Jaguars and draft Arkansas wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa, a Michigan native who began his college career at Hillsdale.
Barring more trades, Detroit won’t be back on the clock until the sixth round, where it has two picks. It also has three selections in the seventh round.
Locally, the university of Michigan has had five players selected so far and could have more Saturday. Offensive tackle Myles Hinton and running backs Kalel Mullings and Donovan Edwards are the most likely to hear their names called.
Western Michigan cornerback Bilhal Kone and Michigan State offensive guard Luke Newman also have appeared on seven-round mock drafts.
