The 28-year-old rugby player shared about the gratitude, as well as her worries as a representative face of women's rugby. In an interview with Ally Head of Marie Claire UK in early 2025, Maher remarked,"Where I’ve become the face of the game, people expect so much out of me to continue growing it. I want to do it all to help, but at times I feel like I’m being rung dry because they want every little thing – which I understand, but I put my blood, sweat and tears into building this platform for myself and at times I feel used for it, which is never fun.”Maher had contributed to creating history for Team USA when the women's rugby sevens team won the Olympic bronze medal at the Paris Olympics in 2024. This was the first medal for the USA in the history of the sport.
