ISLAMABAD, Apr 11 (APP): The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) is celebrating a significant achievement as four local boys have reached the finals of the ITF Pakistan Zainab Ali Naqvi Memorial World Juniors Tennis Championship 2025, currently being held at the PTF Tennis Complex.
According to a press release, this international tournament features 38 boys and 21 girls from 14 countries, including Pakistan, Kazakhstan, and Japan. It honors the memory of Zainab Ali Naqvi, a talented young player who tragically passed away in 2024.
In the boys’ singles final, Abubakar Talha will compete against Nadir Mirza. Mirza secured his spot by defeating Singapore’s Luke Jie Xi Ho 6-3, 7-6(9), while Talha won against Japan’s Takaya Ishi with a score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
In the boys’ doubles final, Mirza and Mikaeel Ali Baig will face Talha and Luke Jie Xi Ho.
In the girls’ singles final, Haniya Amna Minhas from Saudi Arabia claimed victory over Kazakhstan’s Alissa Korolyova with a score of 6-1, 6-1.
Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the PTF, expressed pride in the boys’ performance, noting the rising standards of tennis in Pakistan. Col. Zia-ud-din Tufail, Secretary General of the PTF, congratulated the players for their dedication and achievements on the international stage.
The finals will take place tomorrow, April 12, with the following schedule:
– Boys Singles Final: 10:00 AM
– Girls Doubles Final: Followed by
– Boys Doubles Final: 2:45 PM
