453 Punches In 60 Seconds Without Gloves! Boxer Breaks 3 Guinness World Records
@Source: news18.com
British martial artist Joshua Iyala has captured global attention by setting three remarkable records in the Guinness World Records. Iyala achieved the highest number of full-extension punches in a minute across three categories: 453 punches without gloves, 374 punches wearing boxing gloves, and 333 punches holding a 1 kg weight.
This incredible feat is the result of a year’s rigorous training, guided by a plan he developed using ChatGPT and verified by his uncle, a professional boxing coach. His training regime included Tabata intervals and full-extension drills.
Joshua, who began his martial arts journey at age seven, remarked that the record attempt without gloves was the most “challenging”, pushing his “physical and mental limits”. In contrast, delivering 374 punches with gloves felt like “child’s play.”
Despite initial resistance, Joshua’s father, who emigrated from Nigeria and found success through hard work, was a driving force behind his early training and now stands as his biggest hero.

At 16, Joshua represented England in a Taekwondo tournament and subsequently won the national championship title three times. Reflecting on his recent accomplishments, the mathematics graduate shared that he provided ChatGPT with details about his weight, speed, and training, which resulted in a highly effective plan. His dedication paid off when Guinness World Records confirmed his achievements.
Joshua recalled, “When I found out, I cried. I was dancing in the London metro to Latin music. People thought I was crazy, but I didn’t care. I was on cloud nine!”
His mother celebrated his victory with joy, while his father congratulated him with a calm “Well done, son,” although Joshua sensed his deep pride. The journey was not without obstacles; initially, he managed only 300 punches and failed his first attempt. This setback motivated him to train harder, including twice-daily sessions, mental visualisation, and complete dedication, which ultimately led him to break the records at the Guinness office.
Looking ahead, Joshua is considering competing in the Olympics, driven by the belief that “You have no limits.” He urged young people to pursue their goals with unwavering dedication.
“I never thought I would become the ‘World’s Fastest Puncher’, but today it is true,” he said, thanking the Guinness World Records team and dedicating his success to his father, brother, and all those striving to achieve their dreams.
