The 2024/25 HSBC SVNS Series top try scorer has signed a two-year contract with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua for next year’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific. The club has confirmed yesterday signing up Fiji Airways Fiji men’s rugby sevens utility back Jioji Nasova. Drua head coach Glen Jackson said they are all massively excited that such a huge name from the World Sevens Series is joining them. “We are eager to see Jioji transform his skills into the 15s game,” Jackson said. “He’s already a household name in Fiji Rugby and we thank Osea Kolinisau for the partnership that exists between the Drua and the Fijian 7s programme. We look forward to Jioji showing us his try scoring abilities in Super Rugby Pacific.” Nasova is regarded as one of the world’s most exciting sevens stars. The 24-year-old played in the silver medal winning team of Paris Olympic Games. He renowned for his explosive speed and powerful running style, which is thrill the Super Rugby Pacific competition. Nasova finished the SVNS Series on a high after being selected in the 2025 HSBC SVNS Men’s Dream Team and scored 26 tries to become the competition’s top try scorer. Former sevens rugby wingers who hit the headlines in this season’s Super Rugby included Drua’s Ponipate Loganimasi, Caleb Tangitau of the Highlanders and Chiefs speedster Leroy Carter. Nasova made his debut for the Fiji 7s team in the 2023/2024 season at the Hong Kong Sevens. He was also part of the gold-medal winning national 7s team at the 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara, Solomon Islands. “I am very excited to be selected to be part of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua team ahead of next year’s competition and I hope next season will be a good one,” Nasova said. He hails from Toge in Ba. Prior to making a mark in the Fiji 7s jersey, Nasova featured prominently in local 7s tournaments playing for the Dominion Brothers team.
