PC Joe Dunn, of Sandwell Local Policing Area (LPA) was part of the squad which recently competed against South African opposition.
PC Dunn has been playing rugby since the age of six for Dudley Kingswinford Rugby Football Club, where he now plays for the men's senior first team.
He joined West Midlands Police's Sports and Social Rugby team last October before being selected for the British Police team.
There were two hard-fought victories and PC Dunn said he is aiming for many more caps for the British Police team in the coming seasons.
He said: “This came as a welcome surprise to me as I was not expecting to be selected for the British Police team so soon, although it was always my aim.
“I feel extremely privileged to have had the opportunity to represent British Police Rugby. It’s the highest honour of my rugby career.
"Without WMP Sports and Social I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to take part in something like this and for that I am very grateful.”
