A523 closed between Macclesfield and Leek after crash

A busy A-road road is closed to traffic following a crash on the Cheshire border tonight (Sunday, July 27). The A523 is shut in both directions near Rushton Spencer, just across the border in the Staffordshire Moorlands. The closure was first reported at around 10.30pm. Two vehicles are involved in the incident, the exact type of vehicles involved are unclear at this stage. The road is a key route between Macclesfield and Leek, as well as further afield.
