LIV Golf has launched its own version of the Creator Classic, which has been held twice under the umbrella of the PGA Tour. The new event is called "The Duels: Miami" and will take place on April 5, in the middle of the Saudi-backed league's tournament that weekend.Six teams will compete, each consisting of a golf content creator and a LIV Golf star. But beyond the obvious re-invention of PGA Tour strategy, the presence of an active player from the rival circuit in the field is striking.That is Wesley Bryan, who has the dual status of content creator and professional golfer. Bryan's status is clear, he has his PGA Tour card in his pocket for the 2025 season with a special temporary membership, thanks to having finished 128th in the FedEx Cup Fall 2024.The striking thing about his presence in the LIV "Duels" field is that the PGA Tour has a rule banning those who play in "unauthorized" events, read LIV Golf events. However, Wesley Bryan is unlikely to get into trouble in this regard.The PGA Tour has applied this rule to official rival league events only.For example, Brazilian Fred Biondi played the LIV Promotions event in December 2024 (not an official league's event) and was not prohibited from playing in the 2025 Mexico Open at VidantaWorld or the 2025 Panama Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour.At his current status, Bryan has played in three PGA Tour events this season. He missed the cut twice, but finished in the top 25 at the Farmers Insurance Open.There is no information on what his next commitments will be, but he has options to make the field at next week's Valero Texas Open and most notably the Corales Puntacana Championship on April 17-20.Wesley Bryan's PGA Tour career includes 134 tournaments played, with one victory (2017 RBC Heritage) and eight other top 10s as his best results.As for his career as a content creator, he and his brother George IV run the Bryan Bros. Golf YouTube channel, which has more than 545,000 subscribers. Individually, Wesley has more than 56,000 followers on X and more than 176,000 followers on Instagram.Bryan will team up with Sergio Garcia for The Duels: Miami. The other five teams will be Grant Horvat and Phil Mickelson, George Bryan and Dustin Johnson, Fat Perez and Cameron Smith, Rick Shiels and Joaquin Nieman, and Luke Kwon and Bubba Watson.
