Ugandan international utility back, Adrian Kasito’s stay at French rugby club, Tricastin RC has been extended for another year.
The French Federale 1 side announced through their social media platforms that they had extended the contracts of 5 players, Kasito being one of them.
The former KOBs RFC player, who signed his first contract with the club last year in August and soon thereafter made his debut off the bench, couldn’t hide his elation at the development, posting on his X account the new milestone.
In a side conversation, he has noted; “Of course I’m happy because I get to have another year to play and earn from the sport I love.”
In his own words, the transition to the professional ranks has been quite smooth, thanks to fellow players, his coaches, the fans and the good people around the club.
“Well, it’s interesting and somewhat challenging since I’m just learning French and everyone over there speaks French. The country has different cultures and I have since loved my stay and debut season over there. I hope to even have a better season in 2025/26,” Kasito added.
Whereas this is a win for the player as an individual, who is grateful for the opportunity to play at that level for another season, and is thankful for the faith showed in him by the club, he notes that this is a victory for Ugandan Rugby as well.
“Who knows? Maybe I can inspire the younger kids back home or let alone open doors for them like Philip [Wokorach] did for me.”
He remarks with a smile, while pledging continued commitment and dedication to Tricastin RC. “The contract extension shows that I am a desired player by the club because it’s very competitive out there. Despite any challenges, I always try to give my best at training and games to try to be the difference for my team.”
For the national 15s team that is currently in camp down in South Africa, he notes that despite the unfamiliar weather, the team is focused on their goal, which is to qualify for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.
