A PS5 bundled with the best PS5 game of 2024? Yes, please.

I closely follow PS5 deals for this very website, and even I'm surprised by this banger. Amazon is currently selling a newly minted PS5 / Astro Bot bundle for AU$679, which is astounding value. The PS5 Slim (with disc!) generally RRPs for AU$799, and Astro Bot itself rarely drops below the AU$89 mark.
The maths is kinda obvious on this one. On any normal day you'd be spending up to AU$908.95 for what's in this bundle, though more realistically, AU$888.95, since Amazon usually sells Astro Bot for AU$89. It also helps that Astro Bot is a brilliant game. Our review goes so far as to claim it could "possibly surpass" Nintendo's 3D Mario games (I would remove the "possibly" from this, though I realise that's controversial).
This isn't technically a record low for the PS5 itself: it was down to AU$629 in November last year. But that was a standalone disc unit with no game bundled in. When the cost of Astro Bot is factored in, I'd go out on a limb and say this is the best PS5 deal I've ever seen.

PS5 Slim (disc) with Astro Bot bundle: was AU$724.95 now AU$679 at Amazon
This is a brilliant price for a PS5 Slim disc model and Astro Bot. The total value on this would be AU$908.95 when the RRPs of both bundled items are taken into account, so it's a whopping discount by every measure. It helps a lot that Astro Bot was the best PS5 exclusive of 2024. Yes, it may come to PC some day, but right now, you'll need a PS5 to play it.
The PS5 digital edition also has an Astro Bot bundle for AU$579. Considering the PlayStation Disc Drive usually retails for AU$159, I'd strongly advise going for the disc version instead.
If you'd prefer to walk into a store and buy this bundle, JB Hi-Fi is also offloading it for AU$679.
It's a big morning for PS5 deals. Amazon just kicked off its Big Smile sale and is discounting its digital gift cards. It's well worth a look, especially if you're looking to buy a big blockbuster game digitally and want an extra AU$20 store credit.
There's also some decent discounts on recent blockbusters, such as:
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2:
AU$109.95 AU$59
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6:
AU$109.95 AU$59
