The London-bound Air India flight, carrying 242 people—including 232 passengers and 10 crew members—crashed into a residential area just minutes after taking off from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at around 2 PM. According to official reports, at least 133 people have been confirmed dead. Eyewitnesses and videos show the Boeing 787 Dreamliner (flight number AI171) rapidly losing altitude before crashing in a fireball. Thick black smoke was seen rising high into the sky from the crash site in the Meghaninagar area.
