The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on April 24, and have now shared a sneak-peek into their celebration. They opted for a simple celebration at home, during which they cut a chocolate cake to mark the special milestone. They shelled out major couple goals, and fans couldn’t stop gushing over them. Shalini Ajith Kumar took to her Instagram account to share a video that shows her and Ajith Kumar cutting a chocolate cake. They are seated on a sofa, with a cake placed on the table in front of them. They were all smiles as they cut the cake, and fed it to each other. While Ajith Kumar looked dapper in a blue shirt and black pants, Shalini donned a blue kurta and matching leggings for the occasion. She shared the video with several sparkle and red heart emojis. Ajith Kumar and Shalini met and fell in love with each other on the sets of Saran’s film ‘Amarkalam’ in 1999. The very next year, they got married. They are parents to two children- Anoushka and Aadvik. Ajith once recalled how he convinced Shalini for the movie. In an interview with Jaya TV, he said, “She wanted to study further. So, the production unit asked me to convince her. So, I called Shalini and said, ‘I am Ajith Kumar speaking. I would like to work with you. The production side is also very keen.’ But she told me ‘No. I am not interested in acting.’ I had to convince her a lot. A lot. Then we dropped the plan. Then, later on, producers convinced her, and she committed herself to the film. I think we were destined to meet.” Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar recently hit the headlines after he clinched a glorious second-place finish at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. He has been representing India in international racing events for years now, balancing his action-packed film life with high-speed laps.
