Alan Shearer's daughter is set to marry rugby union ace Joe Marchant following a romantic proposal in Paris. The football legend has been married to his wife Lainya for nearly 34 years and is a father to Chloe, 31, Hollie, 29, and 24-year-old Will. A number of Shearer's children have amassed a large number of followers on social media. Will has 16,000 followers, Chloe is on the cusp of reaching 20,000, and Hollie is leading the pack with an astonishing 82,000 followers. Hollie recently accepted a marriage proposal from Marchant at the end of last year, reports The Daily Record. The England international, who represents Stade Francais, popped the question in Paris, setting a picturesque scene with the Eiffel Tower providing a romantic backdrop as Hollie flaunted her glittering diamond ring. Since going public with their romance in April 2022, the pair have made their home in Paris. Shearer has noted, with a hint of humour, that following the start of the relationship, his daughter appears to show more enthusiasm for rugby than football. On social media, the Premier League's top goal scorer quipped about Marchant: "I'm just glad it's not a footballer." His eldest daughter, Chloe, is also taking cues from her dad's sporting legacy, finding love with former rugby player Micky Young. The 36-year-old experienced two stints at Newcastle Falcons before joining Gloucester for his final season last year. In a salute to Young's career, the Newcastle Falcons declared they would mark his dedication to the sport with a testimonial year, featuring a special football dinner event with none other than Shearer himself.
