Alejandro Garnacho’s brother hit out at Ruben Amorim after Manchester United’s defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
Brennan Johnson’s first-half goal in Bilbao ended Spurs’ 17-year wait to win a trophy and rounded off a miserable season for United.
Garnacho, meanwhile, started the Europa League final as a substitute with Amorim opting to play Mason Mount and Amad Diallo behind Rasmus Hojlund in attack.
Amorim opted to switch things up in the second half with Garnacho and Joshua Zirkzee replacing Mount and Hojlund in the 71st minute, and the Argentine winger delivered a lively display in an attempt to find an equaliser for United.
However, it was not enough and Garnacho was among the players who looked dejected on the pitch after the final whistle while Spurs’ players celebrated.
In a post on Instagram after United’s defeat, Garnacho’s brother, Roberto, took aim at Amorim as he wrote: ‘Working as no one else, helping every round, coming from 2 goals last 2 finals, just to be on the pitch 19 mins and get thrown under the bus, wowe hajjahhahaha.’

The goals that Roberto Garnacho was referencing was Alejandro’s goal against Manchester City in the FA Cup final last year and his equaliser in the FA Community Shield last August.
Roberto Garnacho has previously hit out at Erik ten Hag’s tactics following United’s 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace last season.
Roberto’s post on Wednesday night could now spark further speculation over Alejandro Garnacho’s future at United after the 20-year-old came close to leaving in the January transfer window.
Napoli and Chelsea both held talks over a deal for the Argentina international but were unable to agree a transfer fee, even after United lowered their asking price to €65 million (£54.8m).
Napoli, who are in the market for a new winger after selling Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain for €70m (£58.9m), also revealed that Garnacho’s wage demands played a significant role in the deal breaking down in January.
