Fresh back from her stunning holiday to the Dolomites, Welsh TV presenter Alex Jones has given a "little update" on her new family arrivals. Posting to Instagram, Alex declared: "A birth overnight!" Alex and her family, three children Teddy, eight, Kit, five and Annie, three and her husband Charlie Thomson now have baby chicks in the family. Currently still hatching in an incubator, Alex said: "Little update... we have some pipping" as the chicks were born and updated her story to show some of the chicks were hatched. The new additions come after Alex switched London living for the countryside. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter . Previously Alex explained why they got the chicks, she said: "Ah the kids loved them so much last year, that we decided to do it again this year. This year we are going to keep three females, so here we go again." In an episode of the Netmums podcast, The One Show host and 48-year-old mum-of-three shared insights into life with her family. Alex, who previously lived in west London, said the family doesn't regret switching from the hustle and bustle of the capital for a more idyllic existence in the countryside. She explained they were looking for somewhere that was "not too far from London", saying: "In the end, we found this house, which is lovely. It's got a lovely soul but potential. That word, 'potential'." Alex also explained the benefits of moving to the bigger family home with two "very active boys", Teddy and Kit, and a "pretty active" daughter, Annie. She said her sons enjoy football and rugby , describing them as being like "two puppies" who "need to run". Alex added: "For the children, it's been an absolute game-changer. They stopped coughing. I didn't realise it was a thing, but in London, they'd always have this cough and it would linger and that stopped." Alex said: "And now we can sit in the garden and they can run, and you know, fill hours outside, which is wonderful to see. So, we haven't looked back, really. We love it." Alex, who works in central London, added that they can do things they enjoy while maintaining a separation between work and home, something she described as "quite healthy". In a recent interview with The Times, Alex admitted that she would miss working in London and still enjoys going into the city.
