Amitabh Bachchan is reportedly planning to build a memorial for his father, legendary poet Harivanshrai Bachchan, near the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. According to reports, Big B wants to honour his father’s literary legacy by creating a space where people can remember and celebrate his timeless poetry.
Following the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Mandir, Amitabh Bachchan’s Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Trust has made another significant land acquisition in Ayodhya. The newly purchased property spans 54,454 square feet and is located 10 kilometers from the Ram Mandir.
This marks the second land deal linked to the Bachchans in the region, following an earlier purchase on January 16 in Haveli Avadh, which was valued at Rs 4.54 crore. Both transactions were managed by Rajesh Rishikesh Yadav on behalf of Amitabh Bachchan and his trust.
While there is no official confirmation regarding the intended use of the land, sources suggest that the Haveli Avadh property could be used for residential purposes, whereas the larger, recently acquired plot might be dedicated to a charitable or social initiative.
Pratap Singh, Assistant Inspector General of the Stamp and Registration Department in Ayodhya, told the Times of India, “We can only confirm that the sale deeds have taken place. Once the building plan is approved by the local development authority, the purpose of these investments will become clear.”
Bachchan established the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Trust in 2013, dedicated to raising funds for charitable causes in memory of his father, the celebrated poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Reflecting on its purpose, Big B had once shared on his blog, “I am happy to announce the formation of a Trust in the memory of my Father – HRB Memorial Trust – which shall work to collect funds for charity. My own efforts at creating events or acts to contribute to it shall be prime, and the list of the charitable work done shall be soon visible to all.”
