Anaheim Hills briefs: Library branches have busy plans for April

Many fun and interesting activities are planned at Canyon Hills and East Anaheim Library branches this month.
Canyon Hills Library is sponsoring an egg scavenger hunt through April 19. Kids are invited to look for hidden eggs at the library branch for a chance to win prizes. Those interested in participating should visit the Information Desk for more information.
On April 18, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., kids can attend an egg painting party at the Canyon Hills branch to paint eggs, and eat sweet treats.
On April 15, the branch is offering an Alzheimer’s OC in-person event on Home Safety 101 at 2 p.m. This program will provide helpful tips on how seniors can stay safe and comfortable at home.

Then, at the East Anaheim Library branch, kids and families can make Earth Day Crafts from 4 to 5 p.m. on April 16. For additional information, call 714-765-3887cq.
Egg hunts, more fun at Easter Festival
The Anaheim Hills Rotary Club has lots of fun in store again this year as members host the 15th annual Easter Festival on April 13 at Ronald Reagan Park. And the community is invited.
This year’s 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. event not only includes another exciting egg hunt for all kids, but there is also something new — a separate hunt for kids ages 4 and under in a different area of the park.
All kids will have the opportunity to enjoy free games, crafts and face painting, as well as photos with the Easter Bunny. Pizza slices, shaved ices and a variety of other snacks will be available for purchase. Various booths and other opportunities will be available throughout the event.

Older adults invited to spring luncheon
All senior citizens are invited to attend the Active Older Adults “Hop Into Spring” luncheon on April 10 at the East Anaheim Community Center.
Celebrate Spring with friends and neighbors for a light lunch and enjoyable company. A $5 donation is suggested for the 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. luncheon. Those interested in attending should call 714-765-3912.
Canyon Hills church has egg hunt planned
The Children’s Ministries of Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church is hosting a community Easter egg hunt following its 10 a.m. Palm Sunday Worship service on April 13. And all kids in the community are invited.
A continental brunch will also be served in the church Fellowship Hall following the morning service. All are welcome. For additional information, visit canyonhillspc.org.
Women’s Club plans spring luncheon
Members of the Anaheim Hills Women’s Club will host a “Welcome in Easter and Spring” luncheon on April 23 at the Anaheim Hills Golf Course. All women in the community are invited.
The 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. program will feature a spring fashion show by Ilene Gerber. Guests also have the choice from one of three entrée choices. Cost is $38 per person.

Library is planning a May Day event
Mark your calendars for the Anaheim Public Library’s first-ever May Day program at Founders’ Park on West Street in Anaheim. All kids ages 5 to 12 are invited.
Kids will have the opportunity to make May baskets, create nature sun prints, participate in a gardening project and play some traditional outdoor games, as well as dance around the maypole at the 9 a.m. to noon event on May 3.
This inaugural event will also offer families the chance to gain an understanding about early Anaheim at the historic Woelke-Stoffel House, the Mother Colony House and Carriage House.

Assistance League of Anaheim is welcoming members
The next general meeting of the Assistance League of Anaheim is scheduled for April 10 at the Ebell Club of Anaheim, 226 Helena Anaheim.
The dinner meeting begins with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by the 6 p.m dinner/meeting. And all women in the community are welcome to attend.
The Assistance League of Anaheim is one of 118 chapters of the National Assistance League and members have participated in a variety of programs in Anaheim including the Operation School Bell Program. Through this program, the chapter provides uniforms, hygiene kits, shoes, jackets and backpacks to underprivileged kids in Anaheim.
