In addition to academic quality, cutting-edge infrastructure, educational technology, leadership in innovation and entrepreneurship, international connections, and other competitive advantages, Anáhuac Mayab reaffirms its commitment to promoting sports and culture, offering a favorable space for athletic and artistic talent to flourish.
The Anáhuac Arena was inaugurated on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at an event that brought together more than 1,600 people, including students, alumni, faculty, and other members of the university community, as well as representatives from the sports and cultural world.
The Anáhuac Arena’s architectural design is the work of renowned architect Augusto Quijano Axle, while the conceptualization, construction, and interior design were led by architect Juan Zumárraga, director of Grupo Zual.
With a capacity for more than 1,600 attendees, the Anáhuac Arena will be able to host high-level sporting competitions, as well as performances, conferences, workshops, and other activities.
The ground floor features a lobby, a professional basketball court, also equipped for volleyball, table tennis, and badminton matches, with stands for 848 fans, restrooms, locker rooms, and lockers.
A modern, 700 m² gym with smart access and fully equipped to accommodate more than 350 users per hour, featuring 82 pieces of equipment for cardiovascular training, free weights, integrated weight training, and functional training, a nursing facility, and offices for the sports and culture coordinators.
On the upper floor, there are eight rooms:
-Four cultural rooms equipped with a floor, linoleum flooring, barre, and mirrors dedicated to classical ballet, jazz, contemporary, urban, and folk dance, musical theater, and acting.-Two rooms for sports training, equipped with a floor, professional mats for wrestling and judo, and a tatami mat for martial arts such as karate and taekwondo.-One music room-One room for the promotion of the visual arts.This new complex joins the existing sports facilities on campus, which include soccer and 7-a-side football fields, tennis courts, paddle tennis courts, and a jogging track.
