The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season has been a complete spectacle for fans, not just for the thrilling cricket but also for the star-studded performances that have added glamour to the stadiums. Unlike previous seasons, where only the opening match witnessed a grand ceremony, this year, every IPL venue has hosted its own opening ceremony, making each game even more exciting.
After dazzling performances by Karan Aujla and Disha Patani at the inaugural ceremony, and Sara Ali Khan setting the stage on fire during the CSK vs RR clash in Guwahati, it was Ananya Panday’s turn to light up the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Ananya Panday wowed the crowd before the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs Mumbai Indians (MI) match on Monday evening with her captivating dance moves. The actress grooved to several hit tracks, including What Jhumka from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, leaving the audience mesmerised. The atmosphere at Wankhede turned electric as Ananya took the stage, and the crowd cheered enthusiastically.

Ananya’s father, actor Chunky Panday, was present at the stadium and proudly shared a clip of her performance on Instagram. He captioned it, “Absolute electrifying atmosphere,” perfectly capturing the energy in the stadium.
Meanwhile, the IPL 2025 opening ceremony was a star-studded affair, where Shah Rukh Khan and Virat Kohli stole the show with their energetic dance to Jhoome Jo Pathaan. SRK made a grand entrance, while performances by Shreya Ghoshal, Disha Patani, and Karan Aujla kept the crowd hooked.
Meanwhile, after winning the toss, MI’s Hardik Pandya opted to bowl first, citing the possibility of some early swing and uncertainty over dew at Wankhede. His decision paid off as Mumbai Indians (MI) secured a convincing eight-wicket victory against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), with Suryakumar Yadav sealing the win with a signature six.
On the other hand, KKR, despite losing their opening match to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), made a solid comeback by securing a dominant win against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their next match.
