Anderson Phillip's 'Superman' Effort Leaves Travis Head In Shock: Watch
@Source: news18.com
The ongoing West Indies tour has been testing Australia’s batting strength. After losing the World Test Championship final to South Africa, the series win in the Caribbean could be a great morale booster, but they must have noticed the chink in their armour until now. The third and final Test was no different as the Aussies were bowled out for 225 in the first innings. Meanwhile, Anderson Phillip added to their woes with an unbelievable catch to dismiss Travis Head.
The incident took place in the 65th over on the first day of the Day-Night Test. Head played his shot too early off Justin Graves’ fuller delivery. The ball lobbed high off the bat and flew towards mid-off. Phillip sprinted to his right and dived full-length to get both his hands on the ball. In fact, he made a safe landing – holding on the ball as his elbow grazed the grass.

Australia have been struggling with the bat this tour. In 5 innings so far, they have only crossed 300 just once – 310 in the second innings of the first Test. The Windies attack has left no stone unturned to maul the visitors. Pacer Shamar Joseph has had a blast, picking up 18 wickets in 5 innings. Jayden Seales follows next with 13 scalps.
Mitchell Starc made his 100th Test memorable by striking early under the lights at Sabina Park, as the West Indies ended Day 1 on 16 for one in reply to Australia’s 225. Starc, who had fallen for a duck during Australia’s late-order collapse, bounced back with the ball by removing debutant Kevlon Anderson, taking his career tally to 396 Test wickets.
Injuries to openers John Campbell and Mikyle Louis forced the hosts to send Anderson and Brandon King to open. King and captain Roston Chase will resume on the second day, with West Indies hoping their regular openers recover in time to bat later.
Shamar Joseph continued his impressive run with four for 33, while Jayden Seales and Justin Greaves took three wickets each. With the pitch offering help to seamers and spinners alike, questions are being raised over Australia’s decision to leave out off-spinner Nathan Lyon in favour of Scott Boland.
