The five-star luxury hotel owned by Sir Andy Murray has managed to significantly reduce its losses during its latest financial year, according to recent figures. Cromlix Hotel, situated near the two-time Wimbledon champion's hometown of Dunblane in Scotland, reported a loss of £369,045 for the year ending 31 March, 2024. This figure is detailed in new accounts filed with Companies House and shows an improvement from the previous year when the hotel reported a loss of £919,572. The last time Cromlix Hotel, which is operated by Cromlix LLP, reported a profit, was in the year ending March 2022, when it achieved £416,442. Cash reserves at the estate, which comprises 15 rooms, increased from £142,943 to £242,535 – a significant decrease from the £1.1m reported in 2022. Net liabilities for the estate also increased over the year, going from £1.4m to £1.8m. Sir Murray purchased Cromlix Hotel for almost £2m back in 2013. Meanwhile, Castore - the UK sportwear brand Murray backed by the likes of Murray - reported a pre-tax loss of £28.8m for the year ending 4 February, 2024. This loss follows a pre-tax profit of £14.6m reported for the previous 12 months. Despite this, the results also showed a surge in turnover from £115m to £190.3m over the same period. The Manchester-based business incurred exceptional costs of more than £24.4m in the year, pushing it into the red, its latest accounts show. Murray hung up his racquet after the 2024 Paris Olympics and was appointed as Novak Djokovic's coach for the Australian Open which took place in mid-January. --- Here at the Manchester Evening News, we’re dedicated to bringing you the best Manchester United coverage and analysis.
