Another New Jersey recruit says he has committed to Syracuse football and Fran Brown

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Josiah Zayas, a New Jersey native in the Class of 2026, announced on Saturday that he has verbally committed to Syracuse.
Zayas, who has not yet been ranked by the four major recruiting websites, announced his commitment on X (previously Twitter).
Zayas lists himself as 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds. He says he has run the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds.
The website 247 Sports indicates that he also had offers from Wisconsion, Wake Forest, Iowa State and Boston College.
He played football last season for St. Thomas Aquinas in Edison, New Jersey.
According to NJ.com, Zayas caught 41 passes for 1,063 yards and 16 touchdowns last season. He also had 33 tackles and seven interceptions as a defensive back.
His team finished last season 8-3 and went to the NJSIAA quarterfinals in the non-public division.
His verbal commitment brings Syracuse up to 13 commitments in its Class of 2026. That group of verbal commitments is currently ranked 14th in the country by 247 Sports and fourth in the ACC.
Zayas is one of two players from New Jersey who has verbally committed as part of the class. Travis Miles, a member of the Class of 2027 who is from New Jersey, committed two days ago.
