Antrim Road crash sees three people including PSNI officers taken to hospital

Three people were taken to hospital after a crash in North Belfast involving a police car. The PSNI say they received a report of a three-vehicle collision at the Antrim Road area at around 9.25am on Wednesday, July 9. A statement said: "Officers and emergency services colleagues attended the scene, with two police officers and a man in his 30s subsequently taken to hospital for treatment to injuries not believed to be life-threatening. "Two vehicles were recovered and the Antrim Road between Glandore Avenue and Skegoneill Avenue has now fully reopened." A NIAS statement said: "The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 09:25 on Wednesday 9th July, following reports of an RTC in Antrim Road area, Belfast. "NIAS despatched 3 Emergency Ambulance Crews and a Rapid Response Paramedic to the incident. "Three people were taken to Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast by Ambulance." The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said 1 Appliance from Westland Fire Station, 1 Appliance from Springfield Fire Station and 1 Appliance from Whitla Fire Station attended the incident. A statement added: "Firefighters were called to reports of a 2 vehicle road traffic collision on Antrim Road, Belfast. Firefighters used specialist equipment to make the vehicles safe. Three causalities were transferred to the care of NIAS. The incident was dealt with by 10.24am."
