The Lee Community Tennis Association (CTA) is gearing up for another big spring and summer season.
Registration is open for a myriad of programs designed for all ages and abilities. Younger players can sign up for Spring Youth Lessons, "a fantastic introduction to the sport and help build a strong foundation of skills in a fun and supportive environment. These lessons, tailored for various age groups and skill levels, are a perfect way for kids to get active and develop a lifelong love for tennis," per a release.
Spring Adult Lessons are also offered for beginners looking to pick up a new hobby, or experienced players looking to improve. "Our certified instructors offer engaging sessions focused on technique, strategy, and match play. It's a great way to stay fit, socialize, and enjoy the beautiful spring weather on the courts."
The USTA Junior Team Tennis (JTT) program is returning for middle and high school students. JTT begins on June 24 and will run for 10 weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The program meets on the Lee High School tennis courts on Greylock Street in Lee.
"Last year's JTT program saw enthusiastic participation from 18 students across Berkshire County. Returning to lead the program is Ricky Andretta, the esteemed Pittsfield High School Tennis Coach, who will continue to provide focused instruction in footwork, conditioning, and stroke production," reads the release. "This program offers invaluable summer practice for high school team players and dedicated teens looking to elevate their tennis game. The season culminates in the competitive USTA WMA Team Tennis Tournament at Forest Park, Springfield. The fee for the 20-session program is $180. The Lee CTA is committed to accessibility, offering partial and full scholarships to those in need.
"As a National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) Chapter, founded by the legendary Arthur Ashe, the Lee CTA strongly believes in the positive impact of tennis on young lives, fostering both athletic development and valuable life skills.
"The Lee CTA encourages all interested community members to visit www.leecta.com to explore the full range of Spring and Summer tennis opportunities and register for programs."
