Ariana Grande Brings Glinda Cosplay to New Heights at Oscars 2025 in Pink Gown Covered in Thousands of Crystals

Ariana Grande cast a spell on fashion lovers the second she hit the Oscars 2025 red carpet.
The Wicked star, 31, floated in front of photographers in a fairytale look befitting for a star nominated for playing Glinda the Good Witch!
The superstar singer and her stylist Mimi Cuttrell selected a blush pink Schiaparelli Spring/Summer 2025 Haute Couture strapless gown with a bodice that extended into a sculptural peplum waist. The design also featured a voluminous nude-colored skirt with glittery accents that complemented the sparkle of her bling. E! News fashion correspondent Zanna Roberts Rassi revealed that Grande's breathtaking look featured over 190,000 crystal sequins and rhinestones.
For glam, Grande went for a slicked-back bun and her signature winged eyeliner, a look she's been rocking all awards season long.
Grande is a first-time Academy Award nominee, up for Best Supporting Actress alongside Monica Barbaro (A Complete Unknown), Felicity Jones (The Brutalist), Isabella Rossellini (Conclave) and Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez). She will also perform with her Wicked costar Cynthia Erivo.
Shortly after receiving what she described as the "unfathomable recognition," she shared an emotional message alongside photos of her dressed as Judy Garland's iconic Wizard of Oz character Dorothy to Instagram.
"I cannot stop crying, to no one’s surprise," she wrote. "I'm humbled and deeply honored to be in such brilliant company and sharing this with tiny ari who sat and studied Judy Garland singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow just before the big, beautiful bubble entered. I'm so proud of you, tiny."
Grande made her debut at the Oscars with Erivo in 2023. For what was possibly the beginning of the pair's nonstop parade of Wicked-inspired looks, the "thank you, next" singer wore a baby pink strapless ruched column gown by Giambattista Valli Haute Couture. The design featured voluminous ruffles around the waist and on the train, creating a truly breathtaking moment.

When it came time for the promotion of the film, Grande and Erivo committed to channeling their characters in an array of elaborate ensembles. Styled by Mimi Cuttrell, Grande method-dressed in everything from a romantic Vivienne Westwood tulle confection to a Ralph Lauren Collection pastel yellow gown.
Cuttrell has also been working with Grande all awards season long, and the duo has been on a roll with delivering Glinda-fied looks. Some of Grande's best moments this year have been her archival 1966 Givenchy look for the 2025 Golden Globes, her ballerina-esque Louis Vuitton number for the 2025 BAFTAs and her most recent Loewe dress, which was covered in dreamy floral appliqués, for the 2025 SAG Awards.
Pulling off some many grand outfit changes doesn't come without some complications.
In between awards shows, Grande, alongside Erivo and director Jon M. Chu, flew out to Tokyo for the Wicked premiere in Japan. And while the former Nickelodeon star look effortlessly elegant in a floor-length Louis Vuitton gown, she also faced a small wardrobe blip because of how long the dress was. Grande took a humorous approach to addressing the malfunction.

With the Oscars closing out what has been a stylish awards shows circuit, fans will no doubt miss the abundance of fashion Grande has brought to the carpet. However, it won't be long until the star is back serving Oz-tastic style with Wicked: For Good slated to release on Nov. 21.
Details of the sequel have been mostly kept under wraps, however Grande teased what can be expected during a moderated event at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Feb. 9.
"Well, it's very special. It's very emotional," she said. "I think the second movie really embodies unconditional love and forgiveness and friendship. And you'll have to wait and see, but it is quite different."
