New Delhi, Jun 27 (PTI) The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) on Friday said it has set a target of skilling, upskilling, and providing apprenticeship opportunities to 5 lakh individuals across India in the current financial year.
During the last fiscal year, the council facilitated over 2 lakh apprenticeships, ASDC said in a statement.
The statement further said ASDC has recently signed several international memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with academic institutions and is now working to expand its global engagement with industry.
Its President F R Singhvi said the Council continues to focus on women’s empowerment through training. Under the Hero Saksham Project, ASDC trained 4,000 women last year for roles in automotive dealerships.
This year, it aims to skill 20,000 women to broaden their access to employment in the mobility sector. PTI DP DP TRB TRB
