Aston Villa team news vs Man United confirmed as Youri Tielemans decision made
@Source: birminghammail.co.uk
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has named his starting XI to face Manchester United in the Premier League this afternoon. He has named an unchanged side from the 2-0 win over Tottenham last week. From back to front, Emi Martinez starts in goal behind a defence made up of Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Pau Torres and Ian Maatsen. Boubacar Kamara and Amadou Onana play in the double, while Marco Asensio is expected to operate as the number 10. John McGinn will play off the left and Morgan Rogers from the right as Ollie Watkins leads the line. Villa will secure Champions League qualification if they win and either Manchester City lose or Newcastle or Chelsea fail to win. A Villa draw would be enough if Newcastle lose. United have beaten Villa in 40 Premier League games. It's the second most one-sided fixture in Premier League history, behind United's 42 wins over Everton. Villa have only won twice in their past 39 competitive matches at Old Trafford, both by 1-0 in the league in 2009 and 2021. Villa starting XI: Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Pau, Maatsen, Kamara, Onana, Rogers, Asensio, McGinn, Watkins. Subs: Olsen, Mings, Barkley, Tielemans, Digne, Garcia, Malen, Ramsey, Bailey. Man United starting XI: Bayindir, Mazraoui, Lindelof, Maguire, Heaven, Dorgu, Casemiro, Mount, Fernandes, Amad, Hojlund. Subs: Heaton, Dalot, Evans, Fredricson, Collyer, Eriksen, Mainoo, Ugarte, Obi.
