The transfer window is now back open - and Aston Villa will face a significant few weeks ahead of the commencement of pre-season. There had been a temporary pause in the window to allow clubs competing in the Club World Cup to add to their squads before it began this past weekend, but it is now back open again and clubs are able to confirm deals as per. Villa's retained list has seen only a couple of senior heads depart. Robin Olsen and Kortney Hause were on the fringes of Unai Emery's squad and both have left, along with loanees Marcus Rashford, Marco Asensio and Axel Disasi - although it remains to be seen which of those may come back to the club. Villa will need to ensure they comply with PSR by the end of June so at least one departure of a player on substantial wages is expected. Leon Bailey, Emiliano Martinez and Jacob Ramsey are among those who have been linked with moves away, while loanees Emi Buendia, Leander Dendoncker and Philippe Coutinho have little future prospects at the club.
