Zépiqueno Redmond will join Aston Villa as a European champion after winning the Under-19 Euros with the Netherlands. The 19-year-old is set to join Villa on a free transfer when his contract with Feyenoord expires at the end of this month. Villa are expected to confirm Redmond's signing at the start of July, after which a decision on his immediate future will be made. Redmond made just two starts in the Eredivisie for Feyenoord last season and is likely to head out on loan for the 2025/26 campaign. That would be normally be a decision made by Unai Emery, unless the club have already decided a loan switch would be best for his development. He also featured twice in the Champions League, both appearances coming at the San Siro in Feyenoord’s matches against AC Milan and Inter. Since February, Redmond has been working under Premier League and Netherlands legend Robin van Persie, who replaced Brian Priske as manager. A versatile forward capable of leading the line or playing from the left, Redmond featured in two of the Netherlands’ five matches at the U19 European Championship. He scored twice in a 4–2 win over England Under-19s at the Giulești Stadium in Bucharest. Redmond was an unused substitute in the final, where the Netherlands defeated Spain Under-19s to claim the title.
