As the Los Angeles Lakers enter the offseason, there have been many questions involving the roster. Los Angeles has some big decisions to make this summer, and how they build the team could determine the future as well.More NBA news: Lakers Insider Opens Door on Potential Walker Kessler TradeOne question involves guard Austin Reaves and his time with the team. Reaves will be a free agent at the end of next season, and there has been plenty of trade speculation around him.But the Lakers guard has now broken his silence on his desires, saying that he wants to remain in Los Angeles for his entire career."I think the sky's the limit for us. We're moving in the right direction. Obviously, adding Luka (Doncic), it gives you a hall of fame player such a young age that you can build around, and then obviously, still having Bron (Lebron James), the IQ, and still running around at forty years old, but I want to be in LA. I want to play my whole career in LA. I love it there. I love the fans. Love the weather, love the golf. And obviously the Lakers is the best organization in basketball. (on trade rumors) I don't pay attention to it. I keep my head down work, and I feel like that's one of the reasons I'm where I'm at."Reaves will be eligible to earn a massive extension after this season that will likely pay him upwards of $30 million per year. Currently, the Lakers guard is on one of the more team-friendly deals across the NBA, as he is scheduled to make $13.9 million this coming season.More NBA news: Kevin Durant Trade Sweepstakes Reportedly Facing Early RoadblocksSome have speculated that due to the expected increase in salary that Reaves could depart from the Lakers. But Los Angeles has shown very little willingness to put Reaves into any potential trade talks. This past season, Reaves put up a career year, averaging 20.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. The young guard thrived alongside LeBron James and Luka Doncic, holding down the third option role very well. But questions have come up about his pairing alongside Doncic, especially on the defensive end of the floor. And if the Lakers don't want to pay what it will likely keep him in town, trading him this summer could be the answer to maximize value on the trade market.More NBA news:Kevin Durant Rumors: Two 'Sleeper' Teams Revealed For Suns StarTop Landing Spots for Grizzlies' Ja Morant Following Desmond Bane TradeFor more on Lakers and general NBA news, head on over to Newsweek Sports.
