Auto Crash In Port Harcourt Claims Three Lives, Injures Four Others

PORT HARCOURT – A terrible auto crash in Rumuokoro/Eliozu axis of the East/West Road in Port Harcourt, involving a mini bus and a stationary truck has claimed three lives and severely injured four others. According to eyewitnesses in the area, the crash was a head-on collision between the two vehicles, resulting in significant damage of both vehicles. One resident who did not mention his name attributed the cause of the accident to brake failure. The claim of the eyewitness was corroborated by the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) Public Relations Officer, Route Commander Amarachi C-Ekwere, Port Harcourt Sector Command. C-Ekwere said the personnel of the command following the accident ensured that the scene was properly cleared of debris and road obstructions, to prevent further accidents. According to C-Ekwere the tragic road traffic crash occurred Monday, July 28, 2025, along the East West Road by the back of Bori Camp at approximately 10:40 hours. She said the accident involved a truck with registration number BRA454XA and a white Mini Bus with registration number FGG801ZD, explaining that the impact of the collision was severe, resulting in the deaths of three persons, including a male child and two females. She said, “Report of a road traffic crash today 28th July, 2025 between a truck with reg no BRA454XA and a white Mini Bus with reg no: FGG801ZD along East West road by back of Bori Camp at about 10:40hrs involving seven (07) persons (3 Females, 3 Male, 1Male Child). “When our operatives arrived the scene of the crash, they rushed the Victims to University of Port Harcourt teaching Hospital (UPTH) where three persons (03) (two Females, 1 Male Child) were confirmed dead. “The Corpse were deposited in a morgue in Port Harcourt. An eye witness attributed the cause of the auto crash to brake failure. Our men ensured that the scene was properly cleared of debris and road obstructions removed.”
