Celebrations erupted on the sets of Thama as India clinched the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title on Sunday. The excitement was palpable as Ayushmann Khurrana joined the entire Thama team in cheering for Team India’s thrilling win. In a video shared by the actor, Ayushmann could be seen glued to the screen, anxiously watching the final moments of the India vs New Zealand match. As victory was sealed, he broke into cheers, with the rest of the crew joining in. “Shoot ruk jaati hai jab India jeet jaata hai!” Ayushmann captioned the post, suggesting that the team paused the film’s shooting to witness India’s winning moment. Prior to this, the actor shared another picture from his car while travelling for the shoot. Dressed in the Indian jersey, Ayushmann could be seen watching the cricket match as he added, “Shoot pe jaa raha hoon! Mera match dekhna nahi rukna chahiye.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ayushmann Khurrana (@ayushmannk) Earlier in December last year, Ayushmann kicked off the shooting for his upcoming film, Thama. Taking to Instagram, she shared a glimpse of the warm welcome he received on the first day along with a card from the makers. “Dear Ayushmann, It’s fang-tastic to have you on board Maddock’s horror comedy universe. Who better than ‘Ayushmann’ to play the un-dead THAMA? We believe this is a role you will love to sink your teeth into!” the card read. The Bala actor, in a press note, also shared his feelings about joining the universe. “I am excited that Dinesh Vijan felt that it was the best time for me to enter his universe with Thama. After Stree 2 became the biggest Bollywood film, I am even more thrilled to be a part of it. As it moves forward, I feel more responsible for giving a memorable experience to audiences,” he said as per ANI. Earlier this month, Rashmika resumed shooting for the film after going for an extended break due to her leg injury, whereas Nawazuddin Siddique is expected to join the unit in February. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thama was announced in October 2024 as a ‘bloody’ love story in Dinesh Vijan’s Horror Comedy Universe. The film is aiming for a Diwali 2025 release.
