Ghanaian Beach Soccer player Alexander Adjei has signed with Barcelona Beach Soccer Club in Spain. This marks an exciting milestone as the first Ghanaian player to secure a professional contract with a top European beach soccer team. Adjei’s move is seen as a breakthrough for Ghanaian beach soccer, highlighting the talent and potential of local players on the international stage.
Hailing from the coastal community of Teshie, Adjei has built a reputation as one of Africa’s premier beach soccer talents. His impressive goal-scoring record and his multiple accolades, including being a two-time Afcon Beach Soccer Goal King, have earned him recognition across the continent. His journey from local tournaments to signing with a European club underscores his dedication and exceptional skill in the sport.
Throughout his career, Adjei has been a pivotal figure for Ghana’s Black Sharks. He scored 17 goals at the Seychelles 2015 tournament, showcasing his scoring prowess early in his career. More recently, he netted 11 goals at the 2024 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, where Ghana narrowly missed out on World Cup qualification, further demonstrating his importance to the national team.
Adjei’s playing style is characterized by his strength, blistering pace and ruthless finishing in front of goal. His ability to perform under pressure and his physicality have made him a key player domestically and internationally.
