The BBC has excitedly announced that a fresh face will join the News at One team starting in April. The announcement was made on social media platform X on Monday, 10 March, by Richard Frediani, the editor of both BBC Breakfast and BBC's News at One. Richard expressed his delight in sharing the news with BBC viewers. In a celebratory post, he congratulated BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhurst on her upcoming debut on News at One next month. "Delighted to welcome Nina Warhurst as a regular presenter of the News at One from April. Congratulations - a brilliant addition to the team in Salford ," Richard wrote, sharing a photo of Nina. Nina is set to take over from Anna Foster, who has been at the helm of News at One since May 2024. Following Mishal Husain's departure in December, Anna is moving on to become one of the main presenters on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, reports the Express . Richard's post received a flood of well wishes and messages of congratulations for Nina, who currently presents business and consumer topics on BBC Breakfast. "Excellent appointment - Anna a hard act to follow on the One as she's been brilliant, but Nina's got similar qualities of being a top journalist and so warm and friendly," commented one individual. Another said: "Congratulations Nina!" while a third remarked: "That's awesome! She does a fab job on BBC Breakfast, great at her job, tons of personality, charisma, talent and she's a #MUFC Fan like me." Yet another added: "Brilliant! She's a top notch journalist and seems like a lovely person." Nina Warhurst joined the BBC team in 2010, taking on the role of regional news presenter for East Midlands Today. She later moved to BBC North West, where she presented BBC North West Tonight and Sunday Politics North West. Nina was subsequently appointed as the political editor at BBC North West. She then transitioned to working freelance for BBC Breakfast, stepping in for absent hosts. In 2020, she took over from Steph McGovern as the programme's main business presenter.
