BCCI To Arrange Special Train To Evacuate IPL Players From Dharamsala

A special train has been reportedly been organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from Una to evacuate players from Dharamsala. “We are organising a special train from Una which is not far from Dharamsala to bring everybody home safely. As of now the match has been called off and the stadium has been evacuated. We will take a call on the tournament’s future depending on the situation tomorrow. As of now, players’ safety is utmost important,” BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla said in a statement. That’s what we got to know, so we thought it’s wise to call off the game,” said Dhumal to IANS from Dharamshala. As per reports, fans and both teams have started to be evacuated from the HPCA stadium by the tournament and local authorities due to security reasons. The Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals here on Thursday was called off due to security reasons following air raid alerts in nearby areas, which forced a blackout in the hill town. The game being called off was signalled from stadium floodlights being turned off. The development happened after Jammu had a complete blackout, with reports of civilians witnessing missile streaks in the sky and drone attacks happening from Pakistan. A full blackout has been observed in Baramulla and Pathankot, while Chandigarh has also been signalled for a complete blackout. More to follow…
