Becks On The Mend: Sir David Beckham Undergoes Wrist Surgery

English icon Sir David Beckham has undergone surgery recently to mend his wrist after experiencing discomfort on the hand he sustained an injury all the way back in the year 2023 against South Africa in a friendly. Beckham sustained an injury on his right hand as he landed awkwardly during England’s friendly against South Africa after a challenge with Thabang Molefe. A recent x-ray showed a screw, which was used to patch him up at the time, had embedded in his forearm after failing to dissolve properly. ALSO READ| Records Carlos Alcaraz And Novak Djokovic Could Break At Wimbledon 2025 Beckham went under the knife to rectify the issue, while his wife Victoria Beckham supported him following the process. “David had been in pain for years but thought nothing of it,” a source said. “He just kept going until, in recent months, it became quite unbearable,” the source added. “A routine scan showed that the pin which was meant to have dissolved, hadn’t – so he was booked into finally resolve the issue all these years later,” he contiued. “Victoria was at his bedside post op and all went well. The 50-year-old, who earned 115 international caps for the England national team, will join notable British sporting figures such as former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and tennis legend Andy Murray. In 2003, Beckham was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), and his wife, former Spice Girls star Victoria Beckham, received the same honour for her work in the fashion industry. Since 2005, Beckham has served as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador and has been involved with the King’s Foundation, promoting educational initiatives to raise environmental awareness among the next generation.
