Ben Cohen's ex-wife, Abby Cohen, has unleashed a scathing comment following his split from Kristina Rihanoff. Abby was left devastated when Ben announced the end of their marriage in 2014. He later found love with Rihanoff, whom he met on the hit show Strictly Come Dancing . But the couple, who got engaged in November 2022, called it quits earlier this year. Earlier this month, it emerged that Ben, 46, and Kristina, 47, were facing financial woes prior to their relationship's collapse. Their breakup has been labelled the "curse in reverse," playing on the infamous Strictly curse which typically sees celebs ditch their off-screen partners for their dance pros, reports the Mirror . In a recent tell-all, Abby remarked: "I'm sad for Ben. Our marriage broke down and it's happening all over again to him, and he's got another child. He's got to start again from nothing, in his late forties. He's going from being so successful as a rugby player to [people] now reading of his business failures." She added that she 'doesn't want to make Ben look more stupid than he already does. '. Abby's got the jitters every time she hears the Strictly tunes, and even though she and Kristina are neighbours, don't expect any cosy catch-ups. She spilled the beans to The Mail on Sunday, saying: "We are total opposites. I'm a homemaker. I'm a family girl. I make stews and Sunday dinners," Abby doesn't reckon Kristina's the domestic type. "I don't know if Kristina does that, but I don't think so. Me and Kristina are completely different. We look completely different. We like different things. She doesn't have any wellies, put it that way. She doesn't pick dog mess off the floor like I have to do every day." Once upon a time, Abby didn't mince her words about Kristina, calling her "that f*****g Russian," but their paths haven't crossed, not even with the kids shuttling between homes. Abby's convinced the stars are keeping them apart to save her from more heartache. Meanwhile, a chinwagger told The Sun that after hitting a rough patch with the finances, the couple knew they were done for. The insider dished out that the "past six months has been hell" for them, shredding what love was left. They added: "For the sake of their family, they have chosen to go forward as separate individuals. Those close to them who know them as a couple had hoped they would be able to work things out but for now it's over and it looks like there's no going back." In a scandalous sit-down with The Sun, Abby spilled the tea on Ben and Kristina's not-so-fairytale romance, insisting their love wasn't built to last. She dished out to the tabloid: "How they met is not, in my opinion, a solid enough foundation because it was all about lust and was a physical thing. It wasn't an organic way to meet." Pouring her heart out over her crumbled marriage, Abby agonisingly confessed: "I was in a mess, I didn't want to be here any more. I was really poorly. I sought help and support. I was really sad for a long time." Back in 2015, she let rip, outraged: "My husband, who I was with for 23 years, unconditionally loved and was completely loyal to in every respect, has left me for a f**king Russian dancer. The last two years have been the most traumatic thing to ever happen to me. He's done the dirty on me. I want people to know."
