Bengaluru Traffic Alert: Commuters travelling through central Bengaluru late tonight might need to take alternate routes, as the city gears up for the Moharram procession scheduled on 6 July 2025 (Sunday). The procession will take place between 11:00 pm and 5:30 am, starting from Jonson Market and proceeding towards Elgin Apartments on Hosur Lashker Road. To ensure the smooth flow of traffic and public safety during the religious procession, the Bengaluru Traffic Police has announced a series of traffic diversions in and around Hosur Road. Bengaluru Traffic AdvisoryIf you’re coming from Brigade Road towards Hosur Road via Vellara Junction (Shoole Circle): You must take the following diverted route: Old PS Left → Wood Street → Tate Lane → Richmond Road → Richmond Circle → Shantinagar Junction → Nanjappa Circle → Longford Road, and then turn right at CMP Junction to join Hosur Road. If you’re coming from Hosur Road (Audugodi Junction side): Take a left near Anepalya Junction and follow: Cemetery Cross Road → Berlie Street → Langford Road → Nanjappa Circle, and then proceed to either Richmond Road or Shanthi Nagar Junction. For Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) coming via Hosur Road: Divert through Audugodi Junction → Mico Junction → 8th Main → Wilson Garden Main Road, and then continue to Siddaiah Road. Bengaluru Traffic Police Requests CooperationThe traffic police have appealed to the public for their cooperation during this brief nighttime diversion, assuring that the changes are temporary and necessary for the smooth and safe conduct of the procession. “Public are requested to co-operate,” the advisory stated.
