Moeen Ali made his debut for Kolkata Knight Riders against Rajasthan Royals in their Indian Premier League match. Moeen Ali retired from International Cricket in 2024 but still continues to play the IPL. The England spinner was released by the Chennai Super Kings ahead of the 2025 IPL mega auction and was picked up at the base price by Kolkata Knight Riders. Varun and Moeen both picked up two wickets each in KKR's win over RR with Moeen Ali bowling figures of 2/23 in his four overs and Varun Chakaravarthy getting figures of 2/17 in his four overs. I am used to bowling with somebody who is better than me and has more mystery than me. So, my job there is to bowl as tight as I can and hopefully, that builds pressure for that person then to get wickets," stated Moeen Ali in the post match press conference after KKR's win.
