Allrounder Aditya Sarwate will reportedly turn out for Chhattisgarh in the next domestic season after obtaining an No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Kerala Cricket Association. Sarwate was key to Kerala’s first ever Ranji Trophy final appearance scoring 271 runs and taking 34 wickets. “He has sought an NOC and we have issued it,” KCA secretary Vinod Kumar was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz on Saturday. Sarwate himself confirmed the development adding he’s looking forward to representing Chhattisgarh. “It’s true that I have taken the NOC and am moving to Raipur. I am looking forward to the season and hope to help Chhattisgarh do well in the domestic circuit,” Sarwate said. Sarwate originally played for Vidarbha and was part of squads that won two Ranji Trophy titles in 2017-18 and 2018-19. The 35-year-old is a veteran of 70 first-class matches having taken 310 wickets at an average of 19.47. He has 21 five-wicket hauls. With the bat, he has scored 2175 runs at 26.52. He has two centuries and 13 fifties. The report further added that defending Ranji Trophy champions Vidarbha are aiming to rope in domestic giant Wasim Jaffer as batting consultant for the new season. Earlier, it was reported that India cricketer Karun Nair is set to leave Vidarbha for his old domestic team Karnataka following a successful stint. The title holders are also set to be without wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma who is expected to join Baroda. The team is on the lookout for replacements. Vidarbha stormed to their third ever Ranji titles thanks to strong performances from Nair and Jitesh. Nair scored 863 runs including four centuries two half-centuries.
