Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor has condemned Ranveer Allahbadia’s recent controversial remarks, asserting that freedom of speech does not justify socially unacceptable statements. Addressing the controversy on Wednesday, Kapoor made his stance clear.
“What he did is something which I don’t endorse at all. There have got to be limitations. There has got to be self-censorship also,” he said.
Kapoor further spoke about the importance of responsible speech, especially on public platforms. “Within your home, you talk whatever you want to talk, but on social platforms, you need to be careful and you need to be disciplined,” he added.
Kapoor and his son, actor Arjun Kapoor, met Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at the state Assembly on Wednesday. They extended an invitation for him to be the chief guest at the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) 2025. Barabati Stadium in Cuttack has been chosen as the home ground for the Bengal Tigers team this season, and several matches will be played there.
The producer also spoke about Odisha’s potential as a prime film-shooting destination, highlighting its natural beauty and infrastructure. He stated that with proper promotion, Odisha could become a preferred choice for filmmakers, boosting the state’s tourism industry.
The controversy surrounding YouTuber-podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, erupted after his comments on comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. The show, popular among Gen-Z for its dark humor, took an unexpected turn when Allahbadia made lewd remarks, shocking both the audience and fellow judges.
The particular episode featured content creators Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija, known as The Rebel Kid. During the segment, Allahbadia posed a highly controversial question to a contestant, sparking outrage from various groups and political parties. The backlash has not only led to criticism but also legal trouble for the YouTuber.
