Boy charged after car hit cyclist in Walsall injuring teen

A boy has been charged with a string of offences after a car hit a cyclist on a Walsall road. The crash took place in Mossley Lane in Bloxwich at around 4.30pm on Goof Friday (April 18). A teenage cyclist was injured in the incident but the injuries were not believed to be serious. He was then arrested on suspicion of wounding in connection with the cyclist collision. Now a 17-year-old boy has been charged with attempted wounding with intent and a number of driving offences. These were dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence, and failing to stop for officers. Get the latest BirminghamLive news direct to your inbox A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “A boy has been charged in connection with a collision involving a car and a cyclist in Bloxwich. “We arrested a 17-year-old boy on Friday (18 April), after a vehicle was driven at a teenage cyclist in Mossley Lane. “The boy has now been charged with attempted wounding with intent, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving without a licence, and failing to stop for officers. “He was remanded in custody to appear at Walsall Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Easter Monday, April 21).
