By Ethan Habru in Adelaide Solomon Islands soccer players Rovu Boyers and Micah Lea’alafa will face each other’s clubs on Saturday in round 12 of the Football South Australia (FSA) State League One. Boyers for West Adelaide and Lea’alafa for Vipers will represent their respective clubs on Saturday evening at the Kilburn Sportsplex in North Adelaide. The match is a replay of round one match in February where Boyers scored his first league goal and Lea’alafa set up the equaliser for Vipers in a 1-1 draw. West Adelaide is in third place with 20 points after round 11 and Vipers are in 10th position with 12 points going into Saturday’s clash. Another FSA State League One on Saturday will see Adelaide Cobras up against South Adelaide. Cobras has Solomon Islands defender William Komasi among its ranks and his club is in eighth place on the FSA State League One ladder. South Adelaide is in 11th position. In the FSA National Premier League (NPL) Round 12 fixture, Campbelltown City will take on leaders Metro Stars on Friday night. Solomon Islander Javin Wae currently plays for Campbelltown as a defender and his club is in fourth place on the FSA NPL ladder. Junior David is another Solomon Islander playing for Croydon FC in the FSA NPL whose club will take on Playford City on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile in the New South Wales (NSW) NPL, Raphael Leai and his club Wollongong Wolves entered the Round 17 match against St George City on Saturday for an exciting top six contender clash at Penshurst Park, home of St. George City FC in Sydney. Wolves are in 10th position whilst St. George is in seventh place of the NSW NPL ladder after Round 16. Boyers, Lea’alafa, Komasi, Wae and David who are based in Adelaide, South Australia and Leai in Wollongong, NSW are playing club football in Australia through funding support from the Australia High Commission in Honiara in partnership with the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF).
