Greater Middlesex Conference
Manav Kumar, South Brunswick, So.
Kumar notched his biggest win at first singles yet for South Brunswick on Tuesday when he topped East Brunswick’s Andrew Cui, 6-4, 2-6, (10-7). Kumar shook off second-set nerves to overcome the higher ranked Cui in the tiebreaker. Kumar’s win went a long way in the Vikings’ 3-2 victory over the Bears in a critical Red division showdown.
Hudson County Interscholastic Athletic League
Harrison Green, St. Peter’s Prep, Fr.
St. Peter’s Prep began its season on April 9 and Green has been near perfect. Green has only dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win against Union City, and has won every set since then. He also has a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Bayonne. Green and St. Peter’s Prep will face McNair in its third match of the season on Wednesday.
New Jersey Athletic Conference

Beyer has steadily improved over the past three years. Beyer posted a 6-16 record at second singles as a freshman before going 8-9 last spring at first singles. This season, Beyer is back in the top position where he is already 7-1. The junior posted two wins in the past week including over Mendham (6-2, 6-0) and Kinnelon in a tiebreaker (6-0, 6-7(5-7), (10-4)). He’s been a major reason why Morristown is in first place in the National with an 8-1 overall record and a 5-0 mark within the division.
North Jersey Interscholastic Conference
Jordan Ghongpa, Hasbrouck Heights, Sr.
Ghongpa has shown a lot of improvement throughout the week at first singles and has been contributing to Hasbrouck Heights throughout its successful unbeaten start this season. Despite some tough competition against Secaucus, Ghongpa prevailed 6-4, 6-2 and has grown from that. After decisive wins over Ridgefield (6-1, 6-2) and Bayonne (6-0, 6-1), Ghongpa and Hasbrouck Heights look to bolster its season record with a match against Harrison on Friday.
Olympic Conference
Logan Knasiak, Lenape, Sr.
Knasiak captured the first singles title at this week’s Burlington County Open as he defeated Northern Burllington’s Ashus Mahmood in the final, 6-3, 6-4. Super Essex Conference
Jake Li, Millburn, So.
One half of the state doubles tournament-winning tandem, Li has played very well at singles this spring. Li is 4-0 overall including two wins at first singles and two wins at second singles. Both of his first singles victories came in the last few days as he triumphed over one of the area’s top players, Columbia’s Vaughn Lee, 1-6, 6-0, (12-10). Li also scored wins this week over Livingston’s Julian Turovets (6-4, 6-2) and Caldwell (6-1, 6-0).

Walters also won 6-1, 6-0 on Monday at third singles against Donovan Catholic. Walters is 8-2 in all at the two flights this season.
Skyland Conference
Juan Miguel Pereyra, Montgomery, Fr.
