Brentford have reportedly rejected a £25million offer from Newcastle for forward Yoane Wissa.
The Athletic stated that the Magpies are continuing to pursue the Congo international despite seeing their initial bid rebuffed.
Wissa has reportedly left Brentford's training camp in Portugal to return to London, where he is expected to hold talks with the club's hierarchy over his future.
The 28-year-old has attracted the interest of Newcastle, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest after scoring 19 goals in the Premier League last season.
Brentford have attempted to dissuade him from moving by entering dialogue over a new deal for the DR Congo international.
Reports have suggested Wissa is keen to leave this summer and has no desire to discuss improved terms to his contract.
Wissa's existing deal has 12 months to run, but has the option to be extended for a year.
