Golf is one of the hardest sports in the world to play, but professionals make it look easy on television week after week on the pro tours. In recent years, content creation in golf has blown up as amateur players look for tips from some of their favorite pros.LIV Golf star Brooks Kopeka recently played a round with golf YouTuber Rick Shiels, and during the video he gave his number one piece of advice to amateur players trying to improve their scores."When they [amateurs] get into trouble, they always go for the green, the hero shot," Koepka said."It's amazing when you go play with these guys, if you just hit it out, play it safe, take a wedge, you're gonna end up making a better score nine times out of 10. ... When you get into trouble, the first rule is to get out."As a five-time major champion, Koepka knows a thing to two about getting out of trouble.The three-time PGA Champion has escaped his fair share of sticky situations on the course, and good decision-making and shot selection is a major part of that.For now, Koepka is grinding on the LIV Tour, but he is entering an interesting situation as his initial contract with the upstart tour starts to wind down. Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau and other LIV stars all have deals expiring in the summer of 2026, so negotiations are currently in progress about possible extensions.For now, Koepka's focus will be entirely on getting ready for the major championships this season.
